Some stories stay with you long after the workshop ends.
FO1 Emmanuel R. Bolaño of the Masbate City Fire Station lost his son during a typhoon while he was on duty, responding to an emergency and helping protect others. In his digital story, PAGPAPATULOY, he reminds us that service means showing up even when life has left us wounded.
His story is a moving reminder that behind the uniform are human beings carrying their own pain, yet finding the courage to continue serving others. His story also speaks to so many of us who quietly fight our own battles while showing up every day for the people who depend on us, the communities we serve, and the country we love.
To all who carry their own burdens yet continue to serve with courage and faithfulness, my salute to you. Your battles may be unseen, but your service matters.
Sir Emmanuel, thank you for sharing your story with us. My deepest respect and salute to you. 🫡
