“I’ve finished high school life with a jersey on my back and sweat in my eyes. I learned how to push past limits, how to win – and more importantly, how to lose with heart.
After receiving my degree in college and being pressured on paying back the efforts of my parents, I found that place in the fire service. Different gear, same heart. A new team – one that runs into danger, not away from it.
I used to play for the scoreboard. Now I play for something far more important – for the lives I can save, and the people I serve….the athlete in me didn’t retire – it just found a higher calling.”
